Vito's Calzone

  • 1 package VITO'S
  • 1 DAD'S Asiago cheese spread
  • 1 small ricotta cheese tub
  • 5 pack frozen bread dough. Thaw two loaves. One loaf equals two to three calzones. )
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • Your favorite saute veggies. I like peppers, mushrooms & red onions.
  • Corn meal

  1. Cook VITO'S until just done, it will cook more in the oven. Cut into small pieces.
  2. Mix the ricotta, egg & DAD'S together in a bowl. Set aside.
  3. Saute the veggies. Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees.
  4. When the dough is thawed, throw a little flour on a counter and divide the dough into halves or thirds. One at a time, roll out the dough into a circle. It takes a little patience and muscle.
  5. At the bottom half of the circle layer some: mozzarella, VITO'S, veggies, DAD'S mixture, Parmesan sprinkle. Fold top half over, press edges with fingers and crimp with fork tines (for presentation purpose).
  6. Lightly oil the bottom of pan, sprinkle with corn meal, lay the calzone in the pan & brush top with olive oil.
  7. Bake 20 min
